FlexArmor doesn’t require any special maintenance to keep your RV in superior shape or keep your warranty in effect. You’ll no longer have seals to inspect or maintain, but if you wish to do so, you may want to occasionally use a generic cleaning product to make it sparkle.
FAQs
How do I keep my FlexArmor RV roof clean?
You can use most any household cleaners to clean your roof. Our FlexArmor roof system has an extremely high chemical tolerance, so it will be easy to maintain. It is designed to be “self-cleaning” which means most everyday dust and dirt wash off when it rains. It also resists many stains and mildew due to its nonporous nature.
Will insurance approve FlexArmor?
Most insurance companies will approve FlexArmor with qualifying damage such as hail, collision or tree damage.
How long will my RV be in your shop while it's getting a new roof?
Typically, your RV should be in the shop for 4 days if it does not need any RV repairs or other work done.
Can you compare FlexArmor to other RV roof sealants and coatings in flexibility, strength, and thickness?
FlexArmor has over 600% elongation. This makes it very flexible and provides it with adequate movement to move with your RV and during temperature changes. The strength is over 3500 psi tear, making it next to impossible to puncture or snag and cause a tear. Our thickness is 187 mils or 3/16 of an inch thick.
Will my FlexArmor roof be completely smooth?
The final roof texture varies from application to application. Some substrates are smoother than others, so that will affect the final look. The number of added components on your roof will also determine the finished product. The roof material dries quickly, so if we are spraying around things, little droplets will form across the roof. We do a final pass to get as smooth a finish as possible, but there is no exact way to make each roof look the same. Any “pitting” you see is not deep or rough. It’s slightly bumpy. There haven’t been any issues with it collecting dirt or other debris.
Do I need to caulk around my additional fixtures on the RV top?
Not at all! Our FlexArmor roof system was designed to remove all the caulking joints and seams in your RV roof. Since you no longer have any exposed screws or joints, our chemical bond completely removes the need for caulking.
Does FlexArmor come with a warranty?
That’s the best feature of all! FlexArmor comes with a lifetime, transferable warranty. You can read the warranty here.
Is this roof a bedliner?
No. FlexArmor is a pure polyurea and proprietary process designed exclusively for RVs. Unlike less expensive hybrids, like bedliners, and other brands, the pure polyurea of FlexArmor ensures the RV roof can survive fluctuating temperatures, consistent curing quality, UV resistance, and flexibility.
What happens if I need to replace any of the fixtures on my RV roof?
There’s no need to be concerned! We will replace your refrigerator vent cover, and install new MaxxAir vent covers and new AC gaskets. Your bases are sealed under your new roof so they will last long. If you ever need other replacements or to add something to your RV roof such as a satellite dish or solar panels, we can remove the component, install a new one and respray just that area that was cut through. If you are not near a FlexArmor applicator at the time, grind or cut through the coating to get the part out, replace it and caulk it until you can get back to one of our approved FlexArmor locations for respraying.
How is your roof system being installed?
FlexArmor application in our Colorado facility is only performed indoors in a controlled environment. It is a professional product that requires a specially-trained applicator and machine to spray it. Due to several conditions, such as the specialty equipment involved and exposed roof during prep, the application must be done indoors. However, it’s beneficial as we remove important equipment like your AC and satellite to keep them aways from rain or other harmful weather conditions.
Is there any financing options available?
We currently do not offer financing for our roof installations.
